자율비행 드론 스타트업 니어스랩이 국내 최대 벤처캐피탈인 IMM인베스트먼트로부터 추가 투자를 유치하며 투자 라운드를 마무리했다. 지금까지 니어스랩의 누적 투자액은 300억원을 돌파하며 국내 드론 업계 최대 투자 금액을 갱신했다. 특히 이번 라운드에는 니어스랩의 IPO 주관사이기도 한 NH투자증권도 투자사로 참여해 더욱 눈길을 끌었다.

[This Company Just Unveiled The World’s Largest Autonomous Commercial Drone Deployment]
Today Percepto announced its upcoming deployment of hundreds of drone-in-a-box (DIB) systems to support the largest power company in the United States, Florida Power & Light (FPL). This arrangement constitutes the largest commercial autonomous drone project in the world. Through it, the two pioneers intend to transform critical infrastructure resiliency for FPL’s 11 million customers.
Based on that initial project’s successes and safety record, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued FPL the first-of-its-kind nationwide beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) waiver. Current FAA rules require commercial drone operators to fly their aircraft within their visual line of sight. This ground-breaking approval enabled FPL to fly Percepto drones BVLOS at FPL-owned or serviced sites.
